Local Bargaining Update #10

May 3, 2012

The company is still asking for major concessions in health care and other benefits. So please be safe while working hard for the company and our customers. Remember Safety is a cheap and effective insurance policy. Working safely each day will keep the doctor away and keep the company’s premiums from increasing. This in turn will keep more money in your pocket. The contract is still extended until May 31, 2013. Your Committee remains committed to getting back to the table with the company in hopes of reaching an agreement that is in the best interest of our membership. No further dates have been scheduled. Let your boss know you want a fair contract.

Protect your thoughts and wear your hard hat

In other news!!!

See update below on the contract for workers in Frontier Communications in the former Verizon Contract covering Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois expired on February 9th representing approximately 1300 people in 12 Locals.

The Tentative Agreement between CWA and Frontier has been rejected by the members. The members sent a clear message to Frontier, they were not satisfied with the proposals the Company gave to their CWA elected committee. The bargaining committee will contact the Company committee to give them the results, and share with them they are available to continue negotiations. Along with the vote, not to ratify the TA, the members voted in favor of a strike. The Union will be investigating further options in the coming days. As always, contracts are not won by the bargaining committee alone, they are won by the support of each and every member. It is now up to all members and locals to mobilize and send a strong message to Frontier, they will do whatever it takes to get the Company to return to the table and negotiate a fair contract. Locals should keep the committee informed of any actions they do and the committee will keep the local presidents informed as to when and if the Company agrees to return to the table.

Local Bargaining Update #9

March 20, 2013

We were unable to come to an agreement with the Company even though there was some movement by both sides. Your committee will not agree to these major concessions the company is putting before us. Your Committee was able to agree to an extension until May 31, 2013. An extension means that everything remains the same. The articles in the contract and all benefits remain in effect. Your Committee remains committed to getting back to the table with the company in hopes of reaching an agreement that is in the best interest of our membership. The company is available to meet on April 29, 30 and May 1st. Bargaining will resume the last week of April.

Local Bargaining Update # 7
February 16, 2013

There are still no bargaining dates scheduled with Frontier for the CPE contract (formally CCI) and the Frontier ILEC contract (formally CTCO). I was informed the chair of the company’s bargaining team will be contacting the chair on the union’s bargaining team on February 26 and/or 27 to discuss future bargaining.

The Contract for workers in Frontier Communications in the former Verizon Contract covering Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin and Illinois expired on February 9th. There are six elected bargainers representing approximately 1300 people in 12 Locals. They have been bargaining hard since early January and are far from a settlement as Frontier's bargaining committee of ten presses for major concessions in pensions, health care, time off and other working conditions.

We all need to show Frontier we stand behind our fellow CWA members.

Local Bargaining Update # 3

November 15, 2012

Our CWA bargaining team met with the company today to continue bargaining for our Local contracts.

The Union presented several more proposals to the company today all aimed at enhancements for our

members. The Union also presented various data requests to the company in connection with their

retrogressive proposals that were presented Wednesday and Thursday. Included in those company

proposals were demands for vacation, holidays, benefits and seniority language that would negatively

impact our current standard of living. Bargaining has recessed and the Union is waiting on the company

to supply the data requested to further analyze the company’s proposals. The union has told the

company we are available to meet every day next week. The next bargaining meeting is scheduled for

November 28th .These Company demands have sent a clear message that this company has focused its

unprecedented attack on our member’s security, future and our way of life. Bargaining is won in the

workplace not at the table. Every member must send the message to that we are united in our fight for

a fair contract. Continue to check the website to get bargaining updates.

Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Union continued to carry our message we want good SECURE

living wage jobs. The Company on the other hand is looking for more ways to negatively affect our

members. The Company proposals would harm each and every title in our contract. Every Member

needs to realize that this Company is clearly out to harm you, your families and our way of life.

LET MANAGEMENT KNOW WE ARE HERE AND WE ARE HERE TO STAY!

Local Bargaining is set to resume tomorrow morning.
